NEW YORK

Five boroughs. One crossing. New York reveals itself with every crossing. Bridges lift you above the streets before drawing you into another neighbourhood, another wave of sound. From the quiet of the Queensboro Bridge to the roar of First Avenue, the city changes around you as you keep moving. Five boroughs become one continuous journey, traced by every runner who passes through.

CHICAGO

Chicago unfolds one neighbourhood at a time. Starting and finishing in Grant Park, the marathon passes through 29 neighbourhoods, each bringing its own character to the course. The flat roads invite ambition; the people along them give the day its warmth. As the miles accumulate, the city becomes familiar through small encounters: a cheer meant for you, a moment of encouragement, a stranger willing you onwards.

BERLIN

In Berlin, the road carries the city’s history. In 1990, marathon runners passed through the Brandenburg Gate for the first time, less than a year after the Wall fell. Today, that crossing comes just before the finish. You may arrive chasing a time, but beneath the gate, with tired legs and the finish ahead, your own journey briefly becomes part of something much larger.

MELBOURNE x COFFEE

In Melbourne, mornings begin with coffee, and race weekends add another kind of buzz. From the first espresso in a laneway café to the last stretch towards the MCG, anticipation gives way to effort, then celebration. Every distance brings its own intensity, like a different roast. Afterwards, gather over a flat white, trade stories, and savour the runner’s high a little longer.

SYDNEY

Sydney knows what it means to work towards a distant goal. A Major candidate in 2022, it hosted its first World Marathon Major in 2025. For runners who shared that journey, the harbour carries memories of effort, uncertainty and belief. Arriving here to run means joining a story still being written, with a reminder every runner understands: what feels far away can become somewhere you stand.
